The Battlefield 1 trailer has landed, and it’s already the most liked video game trailer in history. Set in WWI, this is a welcome change from the current trend of futuristic FPS games – and fans certainly seem pleased.
This game has a lot to offer because of the huge scale and variety of the Great War. Although not completely historically accurate, the studio has paid great attention to detail with many aspects of the game, while being respectful to the horrors of WWI.
Because technology advanced so quickly within the four years of the War, Battlefield 1 has a huge variety of vehicles and combat situations. You begin with sword fighting and cavalry charges – then as technology improves you get access to tanks, huge ships, planes, and even airships.
DICE is also focusing on elements that made the earlier Battlefield games so successful. The selection of weapons has been reduced, and the environment made more dynamic. This means the battlefield will constantly evolve depending on the player’s actions, that gradually obliterate the landscape.
The worldwide release date is 21st October 2016, and you’ll be able to play on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can read the latest news on the Battlefield site.
Interestingly, the Battlefield 1 trailer has already rocketed to the most liked trailer in history. Whereas Call of Duty: Infinite War is now one of the most disliked video game trailers of all time. Clearly a new Battlefield game set in the past is something fans are very excited for.
